CSC 02 Girls Gold vs LFC Premier White - 9/16/12
We expected going into this game that it would be somewhat emotional for our players since it was against the other club here in Lexington. Our girls came out a little shaky and rushed their play somewhat. We got sucked into playing mostly down the right side of the field. We kept the ball on our offensive half of the field most of the first half and played good defense to win the ball back quickly anytime they got it from us. Offensively we finally started getting the ball switched over to the left side and when we did, we scored our first goal. We were leading 1-0 and right before halftime, we got called for a penalty in the box and they were awarded a pk. Despite the bad call, our keeper was focused and dove getting a hand on the ball but, it unfortunately slid in right by the post. We went in the half tied 1-1. We came out in the second half, settled our emotions and played alot better. We were solid on both Offense and Defense. We passed and possessed the ball very well. We moved the ball right to left, left to right, and forward to back which gave LFC a hard time to contain us. Defensively we were strong keeping them from not really getting any scoring opportunities. They started playing the long ball up but, we defended it well and then moved the ball back up the field with possession. We finished two more shots on goal in the second half and won the game 3-1.
CSC 01 Girls Gold vs CUP Crew Gold West - 9/16/12
We played a really tough team from Columbus, Oh in this TPL game. We knew it would probably be a good match up based on them being in 3rd place and us being in 5th place going into the game this weekend. We possessed the ball well and had several good scoring chances throughout the game. Defensively we played strong not giving up any goals. They came close to scoring on us with a shot that hit the cross bar but, other than that our keeper play was strong making saves and our backline defense played smart and minimized mistakes. Late in the game we pressed offensively to attack the goal knowing that if we scored we would probably be able to hold onto a win. Unfortunately, we were not able to find the back of the net but, it was not a lack of skill or effort. We played strong all the way to the end and had opportunities right up to the last whistle. The game finished with a 0-0 tie.

CSC 02 Girls Gold vs Nelson County 9/15/12
We knew going to Nelson County today that their fields would be rough and that their goals would be smaller than usual. We wanted to stay true to our game plan and possess the ball and get our shots on goal despite the field conditions. We came out in the first few minutes of the game not showing much intensity and as a result, nelson took the ball down the right side of the field and took a shot from outside the penalty area that caught us offguard and they scored first. After that, we decided to take charge of the game and came right back and answerd with our first goal to tie the score 1-1. We started pressuring them better and started possessing the ball. Defensively, we worked well all over the field and did not give up anymore goals throughout the game. Offensively, we attacked well and spread the ball across the field which gave us alot of shots on goal. We finished several of our shots and ended up winning the game 6-1.

CSC 01 Girls Gold vs Warren County - 9/9/12
We knew going into this game that it was going to be a battle. We knew that their team was playing well in the TPL and had also done really well at the Cup tournament earlier in the season. We came out in the first half possessing the ball well. Our passes were spot on. We played solid defense on their players and applied good pressure on them throughout the entire game. We entered halftime with us up 1-0. We knew that they would get more physical in the second half and it proved to be true. Alot of fouls were called throughout the game but, most contact was allowed to play on. I was proud of our girls for playing hard and handling the physical play against them. We never lost our focus and we continued to play our style of play throughout the game. We ended up winning the game 2-1!
CSC 02 Girls Gold vs Thoroughbred Regionals - 9/9/12
The girls came out really aggressive from the first whistle of the game. We scored our first goal in less than 1 minute. We applied high pressure on their players when they had the ball and it caused them alot of turnovers in possession. We possessed the ball really well combining on several passes which ended with shots on goal. Defensively we had outstanding play from all of our players. Despite the Thoroughbreds coming into the game undefeated and projected as one of the top teams in the state, we played one of the best games we have played so far this season. I was extremely glad to see our girls apply what they have been working on in our training sessions on both offense and defense. We ended up winning the game 7-1!

CSC 02 Girls Gold vs Owensboro United at 1:00pm 9/8/12
Despite alot of rain Friday night and Saturday early morning, we were able to play our game as scheduled. With Owensboro coming so far it was good that we were able to play. I knew going into the game that Owensboro would be a tough opponent. I know their coach and respect the way he trains his players. As I had expected, their team played very similar to our style of play. Both teams played with possession and the game was very balanced because of that. After an hour of play and both teams trying to win the game, the final whistle blew with the score being tied 3-3. It was a good game and we are looking forward to playing them again this fall.
CSC 01 Girls Gold - Mead Cup (Dayton, Ohio) Sept 1st and 2nd
We played in the top Five Star Division
Game 1: We won against Internationals from northern Ohio 3-2
Game 2: We lost to Hilliard FC from Ohio 2-3
Game 3: We tied Hoosiers FC from Indiana 2-2
Overall we played pretty well all weekend. We had trouble defending corner kicks which cost us three goals over the weekend. We also struggled some with our finishing. We had lots of shots on goals but missed several by hitting the post, hitting high over the goal, and missing just wide. We also had one player injured going into the weekend and had one player get injured in the last game on Sunday. I felt our team proved that a team from Kentucky could play in the top division of the Mead Cup!

CSC 01 Girls Gold vs Cup Vallencia 8-26-12
This was our second game of the weekend playing 11v11. We played pretty well keeping our spacing good and possessing the ball. We gave up a goal early in the first half on a corner kick. We came back and scored an equallizer goal before halftime with a good ball from the right side to the left. We turned the ball with one touch and finished the shot in the back of the net. We went into halftime tied 1-1. The second half was pretty even with both teams having chances to get the go ahead goal. We took one shot outside the penalty box that ended up going through the keepers hands which gave us the 2-1 lead. We were able to hold on defensively to secure the win with the final score of 2-1. Overall a good offensive and defensive effort by all of our players.
CSC 02 Girls Gold vs Javanon 8-25-12
The girls came out strong scoring our first goal within the first minute of the game. We possessed the ball well and kept out shape on the field well. We played well on offense and defense. Our attack produced three more goals in the first half which sent us into halftime with a 4-0 lead. Javanon had some chances to score in the second half but, our defense and keeper played strong and did not allow any goals. We continued to pass well in the second half and scored two more goals one including a PK. We won with a final score of 6-0.
CSC 01 Girls Gold vs Cup Real Madrid - 8-25-12
We started the game out strong with several good attacks on goal. We struggled get them into the back of the net but keept the ball on our offensive half of the field for most of the first half. We scored one goal from a right side switch by finishing on the left back post. We also scored on a PK which was awarded for a hand ball in the box. We were up 2-0 and then got a foul called on us in the box right before half which Cup scored to make it 2-1 going into halftime. We suffered an injury and struggled to score in the second half. Playing 11 v11 on the bigger field was tough in the heat especially since it was our first official 11v11 game. We gave up three goals in the second half and ended up losing 4-2.

Fall 2012 Bluegrass Cup U12 Girls Division - CSC 01 Girls Gold - Champions
Great way to start the Fall season with four wins. 13-0 vs Bluegrass, 14-0 vs CKSC, 12-0 vs Classics FC Black, and 4-0 vs MUSA. Our defense and keeper played great all weekend recording four shutouts. Our offense had a good weekend as well by finishing shots and scoring 43 goals.
Fall 2012 Bluegrass Cup U11 Girls Division - CSC 02 Girls Gold - Champions
It was a great weekend for the girls. I was really pleased to see our passing and possession of the ball throughout all of our games. We finished our shots on goal well in every game. We also played solid defense all weekend and only gave up one goal in the championship game. We won all four games 3-0 vs Star SC, 14-0 vs Bluegrass Blue, 9-0 vs Bluegrass White, and 5-1 vs LFC White. All around, it was a really good team effort and gave me a glimpse of positive things to come from this team in the future.

CSC 01 Girls Gold - Vulcan Cup Birmingham, Al - Finalists
Very proud of the girls starting out the spring season at an early tournament with a second place finish against some top ranked teams from the southeastern states. The teams we faced have been playing outdoors year round. We came out looking pretty well considering we only had two outdoor scrimmages and three outdoor training sessions before going down there. We won first game 2-0, tied second game 0-0, won third game 2-1, and lost final game 2-1. We only gave up one goal in the four games during the field of play. The other two goals we gave up in the final game came off of set pieces. Defensively we played well all weekend. Our keepers made lots of good saves throughout the weekend! We struggled at times to find the back of the net offensively but we got lots of shots off which gave us lots of opportunities to score. The Vulcan Cup is a top southeastern tournament and finishing second place is a great accomplishment for our team!
CSC 01 Girls Gold Preseason Friendlies in Cincy - March 4th
The girls faced CSA in the first match. Their team plays in the TPL division in ohio. I felt we were pretty evenly matched throughout the scrimmage. We ended up tied at 6-6.
The girls faced TFA Elite which plays in the top division of the buckeye league in our second match of the day. We played well on offense and defense. We controlled the ball well. We came out really strong in the second half and really took control of the game. We came out aggresive to the ball and put alot of pressure on them when they had possession of the ball. We won the game with a final score of 4-2.
